    Need a cab so I'm considering a Bobcat CT2535 vs. a Kioti 2620. They're roughly the same price. My have a Bobcat dealer 15 minutes away who has only been selling them for six months. The Kioti is from 250 miles away (the one 45 minutes away hasn't been that interested in my business). Also thinking of an LS MT226 which is almost 5k less. What would you do?

    STHIL for the pro cutters (every day from can to can't see). Off brands for firewood & the occasional downed tree. You'd be amazed the work that a $125, 20" saw w/ a Full Chisel, Chipper or a Ripper chain can do in the hands of a "experienced" firewood cutter but, just how big-a-hurry is the average firewood harvester in!? ***SAFTEY FIRST***

    When it comes to buying trucks. The payload seems to be hidden most of the time when you buy one. I wish it was more transparent.

  • @Na0uta
    @Na0uta День назад

    Hate to be that guy. But for most of the USA. Payload only matters if you meet certain conditions: 1: if youre above a certin weight in GCWR/GVWR (variable based on state) 2: if you drive commercial (you do it for work/pay as or for a buisness) 3: if youre in an accident If youre below about 26k GCWR you often wont need to worry about a CDL or your payload. Not more then you care about your own person safety and wear on your vehicles. I know, i know, its extremely irresponsible to not follow your weight ratings. And worse yet to go over the legal limit. Youre not just risking yourself. Youre putting everyone around you at risk. But atleast by law. You can do above your rating for personal use. But "not" above the legal limit of your area.

    I bought a new JD 970 in 1996. It is a Icon of Reliability. It has 1100 hrs on it now and I have not had a single issue with it. All I've done is the normal requirements...The Yanmar engine is Bullet Proof. I keep it in a unheated pole barn and it has never failed to start even in sub Zero temperatures. It's only on its 2nd battery. Last winter I decided I wanted a new Cab tractor with heat and AC so I went to my local John Deere dealer and looked at the Cab tractors in the 39 to 50 hp range.... I was shocked at the prices. No dealing at all even though I'm paying cash. So out the door I went...I shopped all the other dealers in my area and bought a new TYM T474 48hp Cab. The local dealer is only 25 miles from me. The made me a good deal. I've got 125 hrs on it now and have had no issues. Heat and AC both work great. I paid 27k less than a similar JD...I didn't trade or sell my JD 970 and I never will. Having 2 tractors is very helpful at times....

    First off, I've never had an issue connecting the splined shafts together except for the fact that for larger shafts hooking to bigger tractors, the things are bloody heavy. The adapter would compound that. Additionally, there's a reason for those multiple splines. Probably not a concern for a 4 foot lawnmower, but that adapter will twist up and break if it's carrying anything close to 80 hp or up. When it does, the pto shaft thrashing around loose will likely smash the tractor's pto shaft and break it right off. Good times. I've seen this happen with 540/1000 rpm adapters when they break.

    Good morning Brock. I have all kinds of advice that might help make the job a little bit easier for you but it looks like you're doing fine. What I would like to tell you is not to trust those nails. I've personally had an instance where they bent like soft butter. To me the quality of the steel used just doesn't measure up. I would go around and run some construction screws in before you do the roof rafters or drill through and use carriage bolts or even lag bolts. I'm just trying to look out for your safety when you're up on that roof. God bless and have a wonderful day. 👍👍🙂

    Careful with all those nails in "shear" on the front and back beams. You may want to add a 1/2" carriage bolt through each joint. It won't matter as much on the sides. Thanks, fun to watch!
